Jonathan from Huntsville, Texas asked us, “Sometimes when I am using an app I will lose Internet connectivity and the app will freeze, restart or worse – close. What should I do if this happens?”

Great question, Jonathan! When your Internet connection drops off while you are opening an app or executing an action within an app, chaos may ensue.

Fortunately, there is a simple recovery method you can use the next time this happens. By closing down your running apps and restarting the app that was interrupted, the app will return to the place you were at when the Internet dropped. Below are the directions on how to do this based on the operating system of your device.

iOS 6:

  • Double click the home button.
  • Hold down on one of the running apps at the bottom of the screen until they start to shake and a red circle with a horizontal dash will appear.
  • Click on each red circle until all of the app icons have disappeared.
  • iOS 7:

  • Double click the home button and you will see smaller versions of your application screens.
  • Hold your finger on the application and swipe to the top of the screen.
  • Android:
    This one is easy! Simply turn the Android device off and back on again.

    Note: If you receive the message “No Data to Display” on the MVretail app you were probably disconnected from the Internet while syncing data. Close down your running apps including MVretail by following the steps above and then re-start the MVretail app. You will be taken back to the login screen but don’t worry, you are still clocked-in; you just need to log back in as a security precaution.

    Helpful Tip

    All photos you take within your mPlans are saved to your device in your Camera Roll for iOS and in the Gallery for Android devices. This is really useful if you need to email pictures to a colleague or if you need to refer back to a recent store visit.
